utilising the differential sign between 2 antennas with the form of stages you're utilising with a single beacon is in all hazard unlikely to be functional because of the undertaking of measuring the small sign difference because of the fact the antennas would be very close at the same time and a "cuter" answer is mandatory. If the beacon consisted of one fixed sign and yet another on a scanning antenna you may desire to get 2 frames of reference. The fixed antenna could furnish distance with the aid of sign potential and a rotating yagi or loop antenna on a various frequency could furnish angular training with admire to the beacon with 2 antennas on the motor vehicle. by way of modulating the fixed and rotating antenna with a chain of pulses, synchonisation could be carried out and supply you the polar coordinates r,? of the place the motor vehicle is with admire to the beacon and the motor vehicle can take the appropriate action to lead in the direction of the beacon, remembering to incorporate a buffer zone around the beacon so the motor vehicle would not crash into it. utilising the amplitude difference on my own between antennas there is no way of extremely determining in spite of if the motor vehicle is coming near the beacon or utilising removed from it different than whilst the sign dropped under a pre-desperate point and kicked in an "oops, time to coach around" set of rules. utilising a scanning antenna you understand left from appropriate in accordance with which motor vehicle antenna gets the scanned sign first,

I agree with kaceypi. For a beginner you can't go wrong with any Traxxas product. They are fast, easy to work on and tuff as nails. I've owned several cars over the years and in my opinion Traxxas and Team Associated are the best brands out their. Traxxas also has great customer service, and the fact that both of these companies are made in the USA, parts are very easy to come by. When I owned Tamiya and Kyosho products it seemed like I always had to wait for parts.

A good RC for that price would be the Traxxas Slash. It's 1/10th, electric, brushless, 2.4ghz radio and even has waterproof electronics. Traxxas is a high quality, dependable RC manufacturer as well. If you look here, http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXYNB0**&P=ML, this one is also 4WD. If you look on the home page of Tower Hobbies, there are coupon codes you can enter at check out to save a few extra $$$'s, and shipping is free. This would be right in your budget. There is also a 2WD version for about $100 cheaper. This is a pretty good basic starter if he has never owned a hobby grade RC, but the 4WD would be easier to control and handle better. If you think he would like something different, Traxxas makes other models as well. And I would stick to names like Traxxas, HPI, Associated, Kyosho, Tamiya and Losi. Stay away from WalMart and Radio Shack brands. Traxxas comes with waterproof electronics and that's the best selling point for me. I own 5 Traxxas models and love them. I'm sure your husband will too. You are a good wife. Hope this helps!
