I am looking at a 1969 Chevy C-10 4x41/2 ton.
It has a 350inĀ³ engine and a 350 turbo transmission.
What type of gas mileage should this truck get in town and on the highway?

This is a guess but you might find it disturbing.

Part of the problem is that all vehicles have reduced gas mileage with the 10% addition of ethanol.

City - 10

Highway - 14

4X4 can be improved very slightly with lockout hubs.

There is not much you could do other then tune it up really good (new carb, check compression and if low then rebuild, change tires to tall narrow tires with high inflation pressure to drop rolling resistance).

Boogie is right. Most got 10-15 mpg, depending on the motor, transmission, and rear end axles. Put dual exhaust on it and it may improve 1-2 mpg.

If it's a 4x4, it's a K10, just so you know.

And my well-maintained 71 K20 with a built 350/SM465/NP205 gets a solid 10-12. City, highway, loaded, empty, pulling a trailer. It doesn't seem to matter much what I do with it. If you get more than 12, count yourself lucky. If you get less than 8-9, it could use some attention.

People do not buy this type of vehicle for it's mileage. You would not get better than about 15 highway.
