If you want good mileage why would you buy a truck? Mine gets 13 highway(Dakota 5.2), Fords are comparable from what I hear. And GM slightly better. I heard the old school 4.0 Jeeps are not any worse. they all suck gas.

i bought only GM originally i had a 92 chevy astro van that was a nuisance it had engine problems and rusted out followed by a 95 chevy blazer that had electrical issues but near the end it had all types of issues of wear and tear mechanically it was fine it also didn't really have any rust both had the 4.3 the blazer had the vortec although i speak highly of the 4.3 it was not powerful it was sluggish when i had people with me a grand cherokee is ok i know the inline 6 is good for torque the v8's are the 5.2 except for 1998 limited edition that came with the 5.9 the same motor you would find in a 3/4 ton ram aka 360ci making it the fastest suv in production and its only for 1998 i would say a jeep cherokee is good for you b/c there is a crap ton of modifications and after market parts go to edmunds.com and go to and look at cherokees however if your a speed demon forget it they are prone to tipping
i now drive a 98 gmc yukon slt its awesome in every way it may not be a top of the line but it has a 5.7 aka 350ci acceleration is awesome it sits up high for $40 it gets me around 3/4 tank of gas or 150 miles and believe it or not thats city driving also it handle great in the snow it may be heavier i may slide a little farther but i have more control and the only reason why i slid was i was going fast on a turn. jeep GC offer the alltime 4wd its like rwd but when it senses a tire slipping it will kick the 4wd on i also have that in mine it works good also i'm 19

Step1 Write a whole marketing strategy adding what style of trucking manufacturer you're beginning. The such a lot typical is a manufacturer that presents hauling or relocating units for different corporations. Step2 Figure out in which the begin up cash goes to return from. Do you've got financial savings? Do you wish to have a mortgage? This is the unmarried main step in beginning a brand new industry. You have got to additionally plan for running charges for the primary 3 months. Step3 Get all of the proper industry licenses and enables. These comprise Fuel Tax Reporting, USDOT numbers, 2290's, IRP tags, MC numbers and IFTA decals. Get the specified coverage that you're going to have got to function your particular style of industrial. Step4 Build relationships and begin networking for customers. This will have to comprise bloodless calling, attending meetings and making a pleasant advertising plan. Step5 Hire enormously certified truck drivers. You would possibly desire to recollect hiring proprietor-operators as this may increasingly shrink to your fee via no longer having to shop for a fleet. Do wide heritage exams to your drivers earlier than hiring them. There will probably be not anything extra harmful to a brand new trucking industry than a foul twist of fate or any form of incident with an unprofessional driving force.

First you ask about a truck, then you talk about a jeep. and make reference to a car. You do not know what you want and no one here can answer for you. You must pick out what appeals to you. You must sit in each one and when you feel comfortable in some then take them for a test drive. The proper way to do a test drive is to drive that vehicle on the roads that only you are failure with. That is the only way you can make comparisons and decisions.
For a person who is 16 and if he wants a truck, I would first look at the 4wheel drive cab and 1/2
Ford Ranger. They are only going to be made for one more year. It is going to become a classic in it's own time.

lol trucks and "good gas milage" dont usually go together but, out of all the trucks (pick ups and SUVs) i'd suggest a 4 cylinder one, Rangers, CRVs, Rav4, S10, Sonoma, Jimmies, Blazers, Escapes, etc,
But i guess you want a larger one, considering your first choice was a grand cherokee, so in the V8 catagory there is the Durango, Expedition, Tahoe, Armada, Sequoia, and so on and so forth

i've got an old 83 Toyota 4x4 that i bought and fixed up i love that truck but for a first truck go with something small like a ranger, tocoma, i think mazda has one to. but if your going to go with a suv i'd look at something like an older model 4runner. (if your going to go with a jeep make sure you have a lot of cash or your good with a wrench just from my personal experience every jeep i've been around gives me hell, except the tjs)
good luck :)
