Can i (legally) put a sequential red light on the front of my car like in knight rider?
like one found here:

It depends on your city/state laws.
For what purpose? You can get cited for unecessary auxiliary lights. You wont get pulled over just for that, but the officer might add that if you get pulled over because of other reasons.
I think its okay to put in rear, as an auxilary/third brake light. But not in front.
You could be cited for any auxiliary lights that can distract other drivers.

In most states you're technically not running a red light if the front of your car crosses the stop line before the light turns red. Most likely you didn't even activate the camera because of that, but if you did the camera would have taken two pictures. They would document that your car was partially in the intersection before the light turned red. I don't know of any way you can possibly check it, if you get a ticket you'll get notified. There's nothing you can do either way except wait and see what happens. You might find the article below interesting.
