I have changed the thermostat, drained and flushed radiator. Still has same problem. The top rad hose is swelling like a balloon atop the motor and slightly where connects with radiator. I am aware I will need to replace the hose. We just had the ac condenser replaced could this have anything to do w/it? Any suggestions?

Your radiator may be in need of replacement but first see if the inside of the rad hose is blocking the flow or if your fan works. The fan is electronic and can be tested with jumbper wires direct to the battery.

I have had a lot of cars that do this. I have one now, as a matter of fact. It has something to do with the fan that cools the radiator, some newer models don't kick on until it is needed, but for some reason the switch doesn't work. So, you need to wire a toggle switch to the fan, the battery, and have the toggle switch inside your car, just under the steering wheel, or off to the side. This will enable you to have the fan turned on when YOU want it to be. Just don't forget to turn the toggle to 'off' so that it doesn't drain your battery (done this several times myself, and so has my hubby). Good luck. Let me know if it works.

Most likely you rad fan is not coming on. At hiway speeds

the is enough air flow over the rad to keep the vehicle cool.

Check to see if the fans are coming on. They may have been

unplugged during you condenser replacement.

Tech tip: In an emegency (stuck in traffic) turn you inside

heater and blower to full blast heat. It may be uncomfortable

but it could save you motor. By drawing extra heat from the engine.

it is your fan these cars have a electric fan it has a control like a thermostat it has gone bad or the fuse is blown or the fan motor can be bad it is most likely the heat control to the fan

bad fan operation most likely, check the temp sensor for the fan, of course if its an electric fan. which i cant remember.
