My cousin just placed her order for the new camero one week ago here in San Antonio, Tx. I was wanting to know because she is giving me her '98 Z28. I'm really in need of a car; so please be honest and let me know, I tried looking it up online but I have no clue where to find the information I need. Please answer this one if you know it. Thank you to all that answer.

If she ordered a car that was already in production, it usually takes 6-8 weeks. If they haven't begun production for the public....who the hell knows when it will arrive.

When the new Mazda6 came out in August, we were supposed to get them the first weekend in August, and they got here 5 weeks late. We had TONS of people coming in to see it, and we were starting to get pissed because of all the lost sales that we missed.

The only thing you can do is have her keep contacting the dealership, because their new car manager can actually check on the order. HOWEVER....that is really, really, really, annoying for the dealership if people are calling constantly. They should have explained this to her upfront so she knew what to expect, therefore should have passed that info on to you.

Guess you're going to have to wait it out man....it sucks.

She didn't "order" the car, because its not even in production yet. GM Has not even set a firm release date - it changes monthly. She may have put her name on a growing list of people interested in the car. Some less than scrupulous dealer may have even taken a deposit. But the fact is, no one is certain WHEN the car will be made, if ever. And when it does come out, it will be a while before everyone who wants one can get it.

Better shop for another car. Your cousin is going to drive that 98 for a while.
