okay title says all but my vehicle is a 1972 dodge w200 pickup
it has a 360 motor with a 2barrel 500cc holley racing carb has hooker for exhuast but stock manifold i wanna get headers that are free flowing to increase horsepower and gas efficient but beside the point can the truck handle it without side effects that are bad and its 5.9 liter
looking for better
-gas milage
-throttle response
-hp gain
-torque delivered to wheels
heres the link to the headers

without any other mods the exhaust wont do anything/2 barrel is a 2 barrel/whats a "racing carb"?to increase hp you have to do the heads/cam/ignition system/then the headers will help/also needs a 4 bbl to feed it/needs at least 10-1 compression/its either get after it or make it loud

I cant speak for any side effects via the headers but as for not having exhaust there are two issues when it comes to exhaust.

Your truck was built before 1975 so you dont need to have a catalytic converter but you can still be stopped by the police just for the noise level.

I suggest keeping the exhaust or at least having straight pipes or something on it.

Drill out the bolt (do no longer harm the threads, purely make the hollow large sufficient to get a bolt extractor in there). flow to a GM broker and ask the areas individual for a sprig can of EGR cleanser it rather is costly even though it rather works. Spray the bolt with that stuff Friday afternoon, lower back Saturday morning, having reported that half-hour till now you attempt to do away with the bolt with a bolt extractor on Saturday afternoon. That stuff is magic, it is going to do away with catalytic converter bolts every time without breaking them with in hassle-free terms 30 min soak time, yet I went for overkill for this to assure outcomes. additionally a tip for setting up the gasket: flow away 2 outdoors or backside bolts holding the header on very loosely, snip the gasket so which you would be able to relax it on those 2 bolts and all of the holes are lined up! Makes it plenty much less confusing to get all of the bolts in if the engine compartment is tight.

I agree with last answer, also at least have straight pipes run past the cab at minimum because the noise will be very loud and you don't want exhaust fumes in the cab. straight pipes with turn down angled tips work great and is cheap.
