Should I install mud flaps or splash guards on a car?

We have a 2008 Dodge Caliber SXT 2.0L. We have 245/35R20 tires on it right now. We want to get either mud flaps, splash guards, or a mixture of both for it. Which is easier to install? Would it look dumb with mud flaps in the front and rear or is that common? Should I install mud flaps in the rear and splash guards up front? Not sure what to do. Please advise. Thanks.

You should only need to install them on the front, since it is a Front Wheel Drive car. Puting on the rear would just be pointless and silly.

And Kelly, some cars they look right on, such as rally born cars like the impreza, evo, focus..

they help to keep stuff from flying back on the doors. you can find pretty nice flaps. myself i made mine from mine belting and put reflectors on them.
