Find the number 1, that is stamped on the top of the distributor cap. That is where spark plug wire one goes. The cylinders are number in order from front to back 1, 2, 3, 4. The firing order is 1, 5, 3, 6, 2, 4. So, after locating the number one plug on the distributor cap and putting the wire there, you will put number 5 next to it going clockwise. Then next to it # 3 and so on. Go clockwise and you will have it.

Get a Chilton's or Haynes Repair Manuel for that you & Model and it will show you exactly to run the Spark Plug Wires, YES it will misfire if wired wrong.

Usually,on most engines, the firing order is on the intake manifold. they will appear as raised numbers on the manifold. Next time mark the wires.
