i just got a brand new car and i cant enjoy driving it because everytime i park, i take like 20 mins finding a perfect parking where theres a lot of space not those small tight parking spaces. and im scared that when i go back to my car that it will be dented by someone who carelessly opens the door. pls help me i have like OCD about my car getting scratched or dented like if i see a scratch on my car, i think i cannot sleep because im always thinking about it. i know its just a car but still it costs a lot of money. so pls convince me that not to worry about the car since its just a thing.

Dings and scratches are inevitable, and they don't just happen in parking lots. Even while driving, a stone picked up and thrown by the tire of the vehicle in front of you can chip the paint on your car.

So the question is not IF it will happen but WHEN it will happen.

My first new truck has had the following happen. Huge patch of white paint rubbed off of someones vehicle onto my door in a parking lot, van backed into my rear bumper and dinged it and pushed it closer to the body, I opened the door at an automatic car wash to insert my money and dinged the door on the kiosk.

You get my point. People are very inconsiderate and sometimes you will do stupid things too if you aren't careful 100% of the time. I even have to watch out at the gas stations as they have these concrete pillars way too close to the pump and you can hardly open your door without dinging it.

If you ever get paint from another vehicle rubbed off onto yours, Meguiars cleaner wax will remove the paint very well. Also buy a bottle of touch up paint and if you get dings or stone chips touch them up.

The funny part that isn't really funny is that you can drive a beat up POS and never have anyone ding you, but buy a new vehicle and you are a ding magnet.

You have the right idea parking in the perfect out of the way spot at stores. I would rather walk a few hundred feet than have people try to squeeze in next to me.

What I don't understand is why people insist on parking right next to someone in an almost empty parking lot and half the time they park so close you can't even open your door. Idiots!

A lot of people usually feels this way when they buy brand new cars, those feelings usually last for a couple of months and it will go away.

It happened to me, no matter how hard I try to look after it, I get scratches on the paint work which came to shock, you can get a Paint scratch remover which will do the trick.

So as long you look after your car that's all that matters so enjoy your new car!

This is typical. You'll get over it after a while. (been there).

If you drive it and park it, IT'S GONNA GET DENTED EVENTUALLY.

There's no avoiding it forever.
