Are LED valve caps legal in the UK? And if so are blue ones legal too?

Basically I've got a load of different LED valve caps that just screw on, they look pretty cool but I don't know If they're legal on cars or motercycles. Some people say they're legal, some say they're all illegal and some say the blue ones aren't as your not alowed a blue light (police).

I'd appreciate if someone could tell me the law for using these on cars and on motercycles because I think the law may be slightly different for motercycles.

Thanks in advance :)

They are illegal for road use in the U.K.

Under the Road Vehicles Lighting Regulations, 1989 any light which "rotates or oscillates" is illegal on a moving vehicle, apart from works vehicles or recovery vehicles. The only exception is for LED valve caps which illuminate when the tyre pressure is low, because they are classed as a 'safety aid'. The law applies to all motor vehicles, including motorcycles.

If you ever see LED valve caps for sale, it will always state, "For off road use only".
