Ticket while having temp tags?

Question

I have temp tags and got a ticket for not having tags, can they give me a ticket?
So I got a ticket while my car was parked, and it said for not having tags, they are expired but I have temporary tags cause it did not pass smog check and getting it fixed, but can they give me a ticket for that even though I have temp tags?

Can I fight it? the ticket is $65 I live in California.

hi.. maybe you did not display the temp tags. .. you will need to show the temp tag and the failed smog records to the magistrate at the court house and pay your ten bucks for court fees.. you've been screwed for giving them the opportunity.

yea if u hav temp tags taht are/wer valid wen u get to court they shud drop the ticket.....u cud also go to courthouse/magistrates office b4 hand and ask about it they will prob tear up ticket ...cas temp tags r still tags... whoever wrote u the ticket is a moron... but good luck
